May 24--The Greenwich-based Red Ribbon Foundation hosted the first in a series of dinner conversations to heighten awareness about AIDS at a private home in Belle Haven. Attending the event were 12 couples; Red Ribbon Board members; award-winning actor, film producer and activist Danny Glover who was the guest of honor; Tommy Clark, founder of Grassroot Soccer; and Phil Lilienthal, founder of Global Camps Africa. The evening raised more than $25,000 and marked the creation of the Red Ribbon Foundation Africa Fund. Red Ribbon currently provides grants to five African organizations: Grassroot Soccer, Global Camps Africa, mother2mother, Nyumbani Children's Home and YouthAIDS. Money raised from the event will go to further support these organizations.
